The Dirty Laundry series considers this concept and considers systems which could be considered the institutional dirty laundry engrained in American culture. This body of work is an investigation of specific urban areas and the affect of institutional discrimination on those communities. This body of work merges material and concept. Each piece is composed using the linen rags used to print the Blackface installation while using the boundaries of redlined areas as structure from which to abstract. Every composition is paired with text reflecting the influence of redlining in the specific area.
